WHAT TYPES OF CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES ARE AT THE CENTRE?

Education, martial arts, and indoor sports take place weekly.


  • The Kumon centre offers tuition in English and Maths to children of any age.

  • GKR Karate and LeVan Taekwondo both offer martial arts training for children and adults.

  • DigiLocal supports development of problem solving and coding skills.

WHAT ELSE IS ON AT THE CENTRE?

We support a diverse range of activities from ballroom dancing to ukulele playing, from flower arranging to martial arts. All of our regular activities are friendly and welcoming to newcomers.

HOW DO I BOOK A HALL OR ROOM AT THE CENTRE FOR AN EVENT?

Contact our office by email or telephone to check current availability. You will need to complete an application form and pay 50% of the hire charge to secure your booking. Please note that we cannot accept card payments at this time.

CAN I RENT A HALL OR ROOM FOR AN ONGOING ACTIVITY?

Of course. Contact our office by email or telephone to check current availability and discuss cost.

WHAT TIMES CAN I HIRE A HALL OR ROOM AT THE CENTRE?

You can hire a hall or room from as early as 9 am, until as late as 11:30 pm. The last orders from the bar are at 11 pm.

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON FOOD?

Food is allowed at your event, but we do not allow sauces, eg. curry, spaghetti, etc. as spillages can cause problems for our regular hirers. You are welcome to arrange a caterer to cater for your event, but you must advise them of this restriction.

It is important that any mess caused by food or drink is cleaned before leave.

WHAT ABOUT ALCOHOL?

We do not allow alcohol to be brought into the centre. Alcohol must be purchased from our bar facility. Please note that the bar cannot accept card payments at this time.

CAN I DECORATE THE HALL FOR MY EVENT?

You can hang decorations using the hooks on the wall. We ask that you do not pin or tape decorations to the painted walls because this damages the walls over time. You are welcome to set up decorative displays on the stage. Decorations should be taken with you or disposed of after your event.

WHAT SIZE ARE THE TABLES?

Our tables are rectangular and measure 182 cm by 68 cm.

CAN I HIRE MY OWN TABLES AND CHAIRS?

You can hire your own tables and chairs if you prefer. You will need to arrange delivery times with us at a time that we can accommodate.

CAN I HIRE A DJ OR PLAY MUSIC AT MY EVENT?

Of course. We do not provide speakers so you will need to provide your own or hire a DJ. Music must stop at 11:30 pm, and we ask that it is turned down at 10:30 pm to respect our neighbours. Please inform your DJ that we do not allow smoke machines as they trigger our fire alarm.

IS THERE ENOUGH SPACE FOR A BOUNCY CASTLE? OR SOFT PLAY?

Our main hall ceiling is high enough to allow bouncy castles. The Leslie Harris Suite ceiling is too low to allow bouncy castles. Either hall can accommodate soft play. You must hire a castle from an established hire company to ensure that the equipment is safe to use.

DO YOU HAVE CAR PARKING SPACES?

We share a car park with the Filton Leisure Centre. Parking is almost always available, but is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parking is currently more difficult than usual due to ongoing construction work at the leisure centre.
